Sighted Summer Party

I designed this poster for a summer party event in London using the 4th of July as a thematic anchor to immediately grab attention. While the event was not tied to the US holiday directly the fireworks theme served as a powerful visual device to draw in viewers. I combined this with a retro Dance Dance Revolution style aesthetic to create something playful bold and highly nostalgic.

At the heart of the design was a custom illustrated silhouette of a dancer brought to life with vibrant neon tones including purples pinks and cyan. I layered in custom textures using Photoshop’s filter gallery to create depth and a gritty tactile feel. The event title was designed with a bespoke logo while the details were set in distorted Frutiger Metro inspired graphics striking a balance between abstract experimentation and clear readability.

The poster brought together my

illustration skills and design theory into a complex visually compelling piece that felt energetic and unique. Its effectiveness was proven in results — the event sold out within days and organisers credited the poster as the primary reason for its success. It resonated with the audience immediately making it not just promotional but a piece of content that connected.
