Blocc Party 2

For this project I was commissioned to design the promotional poster for Blocc Party 2 a collaboration between a magazine platform and an events company. The brief called for a collage-based composition with abstract elements and paper tear textures aimed at capturing the attention of a UK underground music audience.

To bring this to life I curated imagery that reflected the raw high-energy vibe of the scene experimenting with layout and composition to achieve a distorted layered aesthetic. I used noise thresholds and rough textures to amplify that DIY feel while keeping essential details like artist line-up and event info clear and legible.

A major focus was on typography. I created custom lettering distorting and illustrating characters individually to reflect the dynamic and unpredictable tone of the event. A custom gradient map helped unify the colour palette while additional overlays and grain textures intensified the poster's overall visual impact.

The result was a bold attention-grabbing poster that aligned perfectly with the target audience and branding. It played a key role in the event’s success driving engagement and leading to a complete sell-out with the organisers crediting the poster as the primary reason for ticket conversions.
